Are you hosting a baby shower party for a friend or family member. Baby showers have significantly changed over the last 5 years and have gradually become more and more elaborate and well planned.

Baby showers can make the mother-to-be feel more secure knowing that her friends are all pulling for her and giving moral and in some cases much needed financial support. Usually the baby shower is arranged by non-relatives. But nowadays, it isn’t unusual to find family members, support group members, church friends and pretty much anyone except the mother-to-be.

Who To Invite To The Baby Shower Who does one invite? Traditionally, the guest list would only include those closest and dearest to the mother-to-be. It doesn’t really matter if the mother-to-be gets a first glimpse at the invitation list as this may help you to get suggestions on who should be invited. However, if you are planning a surprise baby shower, you will have to do some research usually ask the expectant mums parents or very close friends on who should be attending instead of allowing expectant mother to see the invitation list.

If this is the second child not the firstborn, you may decide to keep the amount of guests down to the closest and dearest to the expectant mother. In saying this ,hosting a baby shower for the First Born tend to generate a bigger guest list as this is, a special occasion being the mother’s first birth.

What you need to remember about the baby shower is that the goal is intimacy. So when planning the baby shower try to include those that are close friends and family.

You could use informal ways to invite these guests: email, phone and others. Invitation cards and other letters are the best way, however, as they provide a tangible, traceable evidence of invitation. Plus, it is the most sure and formal way to invite a person – and in many cultures – the only way.

Hosting A Mixed Baby Shower Party Usually a baby shower party is going to tend towards the females only; however it is not unheard of and if the host of the baby shower has catered for the attendance of guys, then inviting the guys would be just fine. This also depends on the guys and whether or not they want to attend, since the party may dwell on topics such as pregnancy, children, and other mother-to-be subjects, they might not be that excited to participate. All in all, it depends on the preference of the person hosting the party and the mother-to-be and whether the guys wish to attend.

Best Venue To Host The Baby Shower The most common places that baby showers are held are in such places as the backyard, formal halls and even restaurants, actually you can host the party in any room or area that has facilities for your guests. One thing you should consider when deciding on the venue of the baby shower is that when you arrive it is not going to be over crowded with people which good cause undue stress on the expectant mother. You should always research your baby shower venue long before the baby shower date.

When to Throw a Baby Shower Usually this is one or two months before her due. The baby shower is the perfect time to get your friend baby needs and stuff she may not have had time to purchase yet. It has to be well-timed though – not too close to the due date, and not to far as to whittle down the excitement.

For the mother-to-be there is nothing more pleasant than a baby shower. This type of party is intended to take a lot of the stress away from the expectant mother by showing your support and dedication this takes the attention off the child birth and gives them very pleasant memories for both parents (and of course, all the baby gifts) from the invited guests.
