Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip: Pryor on Africa, sex, lawyers, his spouse, sex, Italian mobsters, more sex, and freebasing. Some of it’s ludicrous, some isn’t, however the audience is always shown tripled over with laughter. (82 minutes,’82)

The Big Squeeze: Boyle works in a bar to aid her injured ballplayer spouse Bercovici but then come to see that he’s neglected to notify her of a $130,000 settlement he’s acquired, so she enlists the services of a drifter-hustler (Dobson) to get the money. Cast includes Lara Flynn Boyle, Peter Dobson, Danny Nucci, Luca Bercovici, Teresa Despina, and Michael Chieffo. (98 minutes,’96)

La Provinciale: Exceptional venture fantasy in reference to an orphan gal who is chased by sky pirates and a malevolent government representative who wants to get their hands on the supernatural quartz that permits her to float and also keeps the secret to finding a treasure, a full island in the clouds. Stunning visuals, exhilarating set pieces and gripping characters make this a masterpiece of action film making; energized or otherwise, empowering a real sense of amazement. Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no “invasion” in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision. Rentadick: Out of the nether-land between The Goon Show and Monty Python comes this romp written by Python buddies John Cleese and Graham Chapman, spoofing the classic private-detective films. An experimental nerve gas that paralyzes people from the waist down has been stolen, and Rentadick, Inc. is employed to track down the perpetrators. Cast includes Jim Clark, James Booth, Julie Ege, Ronald Fraser, Donald Sinden, Michael Bentine, Richard Briers, and Spike Milligan. (94 minutes,’72)
